New Garage Door Openers

In September 2018 California passed Senate Bill 969 into law requiring that all residential garage door openers sold in the state have a battery back up system. Effective July 1, 2019 this legislation prohibits the selling, installation or reconnecting of a garage door opener that does not have a battery backup function designed to operate when activated due to an electrical outage.
